Hey guys!
Yesterday I went on a cool and unexpected adventure in downtown Denver. The Kirkland Museum is a collection of cool stuff set up in the former home of Colorado artist Vance Kirkland. They basically just used the house to collect not only his paintings, but tons of furniture, ceramics, antiques, and other cool junk. We went there on a field trip for a class that is totally unrelated (Apparel Design Concept Development), go figure. It’s not set up like a normal museum, because…it’s a house.

Holy hell, how many times can I use the world “cool” in one paragraph? >_>

As I’m sure you know if you hang around the internet, are a comic book fan, and/or dress up in silly outfits on the regular, a comic artist by the name of Tony Harris went nutso on his Facebook and bitched out all cosplay girls for being shallow whores who only dress up to get attention from men at cons. My good friend and fellow cosplay slut, Meredith, wrote about it here on Geeks are Sexy. She, of course, makes excellent points, because she’s a smart slut who knows her shit. But there is one point that I think everyone who has ranted about this, on either side of the argument, has missed:

WHY THE FUCK DOES IT MATTER?

I don’t mean,”Why does it matter that this guy was a dick and said we are worthless whores.” That was obviously uncalled-for and douchey...

Geh. I’ve written about five different posts (some very long and detailed and serious) and then not posted them, because I really wanted my first blog post to be a “good” one.
Then I realized, it doesn’t really matter, because no one reads this right now anyway.

So my first post is going to be a stupid one!

Recently, I’ve started taking photos of my outfits (at least on days when I wear something interesting, which isn’t every day because fuck effort sometimes) and posting them on Instagram.  I don’t really know why I started doing this, except that it motivates me to put effort into my appearance rather than just wearing shitty jeans and t-shirts every day, and I saw some other people doing it and thought it was cool.

I actually have a pretty badass sense of style *primps* and appare...

Hello world!

Soooo…I have a new blog! I used to be a pretty hardcore “blogger” on LiveJournal back when I was an angsty teenager, before blogging was cool or something like that. I posted con pictures and “photoshoots” that my friends and I did, and complained about my life a lot.

This blog, of course, will be different.

This one will be EPIC.

Fashion, sewing, costuming, DIY, beauty, tutorials, geekery, comics…I have a lot of interests, and I’m going to share all of them with you here. In addition, of course, to photoshoots, con reports, reviews of new comics, shows, movies, and games…all kinds of stuff. There might even be vlogs, if I decide to not be lazy and take the time to make them.

For now, anyone who wants to can use the comments section as an idea board...
